Biography
The story of Mr. Becerra, known globally as 'The Machine', begins with willpower. Born on January 25, 1992, in the heart of the Venezuelan Andes, specifically in the Andrés Bello neighborhood, Trujillo State, Mr. Becerra discovered Taekwondo at the early age of 8. For him, the dojang was not just a place of training; it was a forge of character, a path to growth, and the initial engine of an unbreakable ambition.
His childhood was defined by the discipline imposed by the Korean martial art, laying the foundations for the global superstar he would become.
Driven by an insatiable desire for mastery in combat, Mr. Becerra did limit himself to a single discipline. After excelling in traditional Taekwondo, being part of the National High Performance Sports Centers and a member of the WT National Team of Venezuela, Mr. Becerra expanded his impact. He successfully became a Bolivarian Kickboxing Champion, proving himself to be an exceptionally adaptable and dangerous athlete.
His venture into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was equally dominant: today Mr. Becerra holds the prestigious National MMA Belt in the 145-pound category and maintains an undefeated professional MMA status, cementing his nickname 'The Machine'.
Education & Coaching
Mr. Becerra has expanded his reach beyond being just a great athlete. His life vision is based on education and service: he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialization in Physical Education and focuses on sports training.
Currently, Mr. Becerra combines his vast academic and martial arts knowledge to become a teacher and role model for young students. Furthermore, he stands out as a Coach of a new Kombat Taekwondo team and has become heavily involved in organizing events in collaboration with Kombat Taekwondo Venezuela.
At the pinnacle of his career, Mr. Becerra returned to the full-contact Taekwondo of Kombat Taekwondo (KT). His ability to merge precision, Boxing, and the devastating speed of his kicks quickly catapulted him to stardom.
Mr. Becerra, Jonny 'The Machine' Becerra is now the undisputed No. 1 in the ranking of his category within Kombat Taekwondo. His fights are epic, and every victory is a testament to the toughness of his origins, the perfection of his training, and the strength of his will.
From the Venezuelan Andes to the top of professional Taekwondo and teaching, Mr. Becerra's life is living proof that discipline and passion can forge a true champion, both inside and outside the ring.
In receiving the PTF Hall of Fame Athlete Award, Mr. Becerra not only celebrates his sports achievements but also immortalizes a message of hope and power.
