Biography

Grandmaster Elva Pai Adams is a distinguished business and community leader, accomplished martial artist. With more than 27 years of experience in the banking industry, she previously served as a Senior Risk Review Auditor for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) at Williams Adley CPA & Consulting, where she played a pivotal role in evaluating loan portfolios and ensuring nationwide compliance for SBA lending institutions.

In addition to her extensive financial expertise, Grandmaster Adams is deeply engaged in community development and civic leadership. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and as a Board Member for the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

Beyond her professional and civic commitments, Grandmaster Adams is the owner and head instructor of the World Taekwondo Center in San Antonio, Texas, where she continues to mentor and train students in traditional and modern martial arts. A 7th-degree black belt, she is affiliated with World Taekwondo, Pan Am Taekwondo, USA Taekwondo, and the Amateur Athletic Union Taekwondo (AAU TKD). In 2024, she was appointed Referee Co-Chair of Kombat Taekwondo.

Athletic Career Highlights

  • Bronze Medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics representing Taiwan
  • First female USA representative to officiate Taekwondo at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics
  • Only Taekwondo athlete in the world to have earned World Champion titles in both Poomsae and Sparring

Grandmaster Adams remains the only Taekwondo athlete in the world to have earned World Champion titles in both Poomsae and Sparring, exemplifying her unparalleled dedication, versatility, and pursuit of excellence across all areas of her professional, community, and athletic endeavors.
